TACO BRAID

1 package bloomfoods Mexican Crumble
1 package bloomfoods whole wheat pizza dough mix
1 T oil
1 scant cup warm water
2 cups shredded cheese

Prepare bloomfoods Mexican Crumble; place crumble in a medium bowl and add 1 cup boiling water. Stir thoroughly and set aside.

Prepare bloomfoods pizza dough mix:  in a medium bowl, measure water and oil. Open package and stir mix into water 1/4 cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Continue until no additional mix can be incorporated into the dough. Knead for 7 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Roll out dough on a 14 inch length of parchment paper, covering the full length and with with dough. With a sharp knife, cut 1-inch slits in the dough along each side, bringing the slit in towards the middle 1/3 of the way. (The resulting dough will have a solid strip of dough in the middle with slits along the outer 1/3 on either side)

Spread prepared Mexican Crumble down the center of the dough evenly. Top with cheese. Finish up by “braiding” the top:  alternate slit pieces bringing across the top of the filling right then left. Continue with the braided top until the entire loaf has been closed with the dough.

Place parchment paper with Taco Braid on a large baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Top with condiments as desired (sour cream, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, avocado, salsa, etc.).   For a special presentation, consider curving braid into a circle and before serving, layer garnishes inside the center.
